The weather was glorious yesterday and even though I had a load of paperwork to catch up on, I decided to take myself off to the Phoenix Park for the opening day of Bloom 2011.

Now I’m the first to admit, I know NOTHING about gardening.  Don’t get me wrong, I love pottering about in my garden.  I love planting and watching how the garden changes with the seasons.  But I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing!   Sometimes I’m lucky and things take off, sometimes not so much. But that doesn’t stop me loving it!

So to spend the day wandering around admiring the fantastic gardens on display with the sun shining was a day of bliss.  And trust me, there are some pretty spectacular gardens on show.  There is an Alice in Wonderland garden ~ complete with Alice and Rabbit.  The beautiful Ire-Su Chinese garden, which was presented by the Chinese people and which will take up permanent residence in St Annes Park in Raheny after the show.  And of course the winner of RTE’s Super Garden, Ken Byrne’s recycled garden.
