The Li’l DaVinci art cabinet is a genius alternative to cluttering the fridge door with your kids art. The A4 frames have a hinged glass front door, allowing you to change the pages easily without even having to take the frame off the wall. There is also a spring loaded mechanism which can hold up 50 sheets so it’s a great way to archive all their “soon to be worth a fortune creations”
If you’re looking for something unique for Mothers Day, look no further than Rua Boutique in Dublin. They have a fantastic range of unique home wares and accessories that would make ideal gifts for the most important woman in your life!
Why go with the usual chocolate or flowers this Valentines Day when you could give a gift that will bring a smile to you and your partners face every every day!
Just because it’s white and cold outside, doesn’t mean you can’t be white and cosy inside. Get inspired by the whites of a winter wonderland and create a cosy haven with this selection winter accessories.
There are countless and imaginative ways to display candles in your home, from glass hurricanes to tea lights; tapers to lanterns. You can choose traditional candlestick holders or make your own using pieces of wood; tea cups; or even wine glasses. The only difficulty is deciding what to choose!
One of my favourite on-line stores in this country is Garrendenny Lane Interiors. They are undergoing something of a transformation in the New Year and as such ALL yes that’s right people ALL stock items are available at massively reduced rates.
One thing I always have in my home is scented candles. There is something about the scent of a candle that soothes the soul and fills your home with a warm inviting feeling.
The evenings may be closing in and autumn/winter is approaching (did it ever leave, I hear you ask). But dark dreary evenings doesn’t mean dark dreary interiors. Brighten up your home this autumn with these colourful ideas.
Every successful design project needs one vital component to make it work! Your own personality! Family photographs are a great way to bring your personality to your home. They add a real personal touch to a design scheme and are a great way to showcase special family events. I’m always looking for creative ways to display family photo’s in the home so I thought I’d share some of my favourite finds with you.
One of my favourite online shops for home accessories and and unusual gifts is Cox and Cox Their new spring collection is out and my fingers are sore from clicking
I want the lot!
When it comes to choosing which photo’s to display, I can be the most indecisive person on the planet. An arrangement I may like on Monday could be totally out of favour with me by Friday! Enter Picture Ledges. They give me the freedom to change and rearrange them as often as I like without having to punch more holes in my walls.
There is something very satisfying about re-using everyday items in a new way. And when it comes to re-purposed décor elements, wine crates are up there with the best of them. They are great for displaying items and for storage. Now I’m not suggesting you drink your way through copious amounts of alcohol just to collect some crates, but if that’s what you want to do, who am I to stop you
However you can probably pick them up for next to nothing at your nearest off licence.
Valentines Day is getting close. But it doesn’t have to be all about red roses and chocolate, sometimes love can be just black and white.
I’ve found some beautiful romantic black and white valentines day gifts for 2012.
I’m a list maker! I make lists for lists. I follow my To Do List like the bible and I like nothing better than sitting down with a good old pen and paper making a list. I’m a sucker for pretty office stationery and am always on the look out for something stylish and creative for my desk. And I also like to bring a bit of humour to my workspace. So when I discovered a great website selling creative, witty and clever To Do Lists and Note Pads……
At the moment I’m on the hunt for a quotation decal for my kitchen wall. I haven’t yet decided if I want something inspirational or witty. Knowing me, I’ll probably go witty!! Here are some of my favourite finds so far.
January is almost over, the most depressing day of the year is behind us and spring is almost in the air. But this is Ireland and we can never be sure of lovely bright spring days to look forward to. So to brighten your mood here’s just a few of my favourite accessories out there at the moment.
Hello and welcome to my Blog
My name is Karen Hughes and I'm an Interior Designer from Dublin, Ireland. I’m passionate about design and I started this blog as a way to connect with others just as passionate as myself. I tend to ramble on about all sorts of things, projects I’m working on, people, places and things that inspire me (and some that don’t). So put the kettle on, get comfy and settle in. I hope you enjoy your visit and don't forget to say hello. Visit my website to find out more about my services and view my work.Tweet Tweet
